Well boy's, girls, ladies and gents. This is the first of many post I will be writing on this blog for my COIS 1010 class. Blogging in this 21st century has really taken a turn for the better. Our world is so very quickly becoming very dependent upon digital technologies. It was just the other day me and my roommates were talking about how lost we would be if we were to lose our computers for a week. Do you think you could survive without a computer? If your answer is no; than you are buying into this ever evolving digital lifestyle. Try to remember the first computer, if you cant remember, they were the size of entire rooms and didnt have fancy monitors that displayed everything so freely in front of you. For the most of you this is nothing but a mental picture, others may actually be able to relate to a time like that one. Today's world has significantly evolved in terms of technology; cell phones, television, lap tops, internet etc... it's all part of our evolving digital world.

Computer's have come a long way and if it wasn't for this I would not be here writing this blog for you to read. Google has also helped in growing the blogging world, creating a program called Adsense, which allows bloggers to attach advertisment to their blogs/homepage which gives them an opportunity to generate revenue for hosting advertisements. The way it work's is Google, Adsense has whats called a "spider" which larks the blogs and homepage's that you provide. With this spider google is able to supply advertisements that relate to the content you are blogging about. Aside from being able to make money off blogging, people are now able to communicate with other's across the world at the comfort of their own homes, it gives people an opportunity to voice opinions that generally might not be said due shyness or afraid to say such things in face to face. Blogger.com has done an excellent job I find in allowing people to really experience the whole blogging sensation. The website is very easy to navigate through and you can really create some interesting templates with very little effort. You are able to add several gadgets and themes to your blog. This website is perfect for the new blogger trying it out for the first time. Twitter I find a little more confusing at first but overall just like the idea of blogging. I feel that blogging give's an individual the chance to write and have readers relate to an entire story as twitter just lets people know a status update, less informational.

The blogs that i read previous to starting "the book of Alex" were mostly sports blog's. I found these blog to be very exciting and informational. Each had stories of the previous nights hockey and lacrosse games with personal reviews of certain outcomes, others had links leading to other websites with relating topics that allowed you to expand your understanding. They all mostly had pictures and video's which kept me interested and continuing to read. Some were as colorful as a maple tree in autumn while others were as boring as waiting in line to pay for something you don't even want, no colors or gadgets to keep readers going. Other blogs had people telling stories from there personal experiences, such as one Havard law graduate did, Tucker Max has made quiet the name for himself, starting to blog while in school has now grown his reputation to not only publishing a book but now has a movie called " I hope they serve beer in hell" almost a pioneer when it comes to famous bloggers.
